This is the best mixer I've ever owned. My previous one would heat up quite a bit and eventually burnt out, so I purchased this. The slow setting is much, much slower than my old one, which is great, as it provides better control and less splatter. It does have a range, and goes very fast as well. It mixes batter, frosting, and tougher dough well. The magenta is a very pretty raspberry. I've had it for several months and it has worked wonderfully, no overheating or other problems.

The only thing I didn't love is that the beaters don't "lock" in. This is very minor, since I've never had a problem with them coming loose. However, I have had other mixers where you insert them and feel a definite click, which is not the case here. However, they've stayed put but eject easily when desired.

I haven't bought a hand mixer for many years so was very exited of the thought of having a hand mixer for convenience. I'd bought the Cuisinart 5 Speed due to the brand name and description of power. I received my shipment, first reaction was that I loved the color! However now that i've used the mixer a few times now, i do not like the "Low" speed. It is more of a medium to high speed mixer. Very disappointing, will be returning the purchase.

Other reviewers have mentioned the low speed is too fast. They aren't kidding. Even on low speed it throws food everywhere. I made some oatmeal cookies with it a few days ago. I ended up with oatmeal all over the kitchen. It does work fine, except for the speed problem. It's so fast that it's practically useless for anything. I'll be buying another mixer soon.
